Because you’re a business. And you’re a business that needs massive exposure, throughout social media, networking events, print media, online, etc., etc. As a real estate agent, you should always be prospecting and promoting, and finding opportunities to get your name out there and share what you know. You need a platform where you can establish yourself as the go-to expert within your field. Share valuable information that your readers and fans will want to share also.

A website is the best way to do this because you can plug it into so many different avenues of marketing. Your social media pages will be linked to your website, you can write blogs, create real estate events and courses that you can advertise on your website.

Everyone has a smartphone these days and wouldn’t it be great to be one of the top search results when people start searching for a credible, experienced real estate agent in their area while they drive around looking for properties?

I know exactly what you’re thinking right now. “I have a page on my company’s website that’s dedicated to me, so why do I need my own website?” Fair enough. In your own office, you’re competing against multiple other agents, so when someone searches for a

real estate agent, you won’t necessarily come up in search results but your office may. And when that office website comes up, the buyer/seller isn’t going to find you, they will call or email the office and the agent that responds will get the lead. Now if you had your own website that was done right and properly optimized for SEO (search engine optimization), your chances of being found will increase.

The more you can present yourself as the go-to expert in real estate for your area, the more leads you will receive, which I can guarantee. Buying a house is the largest investment most people will make in their lives, so many people will only want to work with someone who’s credible, experienced, and knowledgeable.

With your own website, you can even give it some personality and make you more human and likable.

Ok, you’ve heard the benefits of having your own real estate website, independent from your Broker’s site. What do you think?

Is it worth a few hundred dollars and time investment to build your own site to enjoy these benefits?

If so, don’t put it off! You can’t afford to!

The sooner you launch your site, the sooner you’ll reap the benefits.
